Too Hot To Handle is one of the most talked-about reality shows of our time. It is one series the audience loves to hate. Although people have a lot to say about it, they also seem never to get enough of the show. While this is the case with almost every reality show that’s come out in recent times, it is more so with this. What exactly is it about Too Hot to Handle that keeps the audience on their feet? This is one question that a lot of us seem to have. While we don’t really have an answer to this, what we do have are updates regarding the recent developments of the show. But before we get on with that, we need to know what has been up with the show so far.
Too Hot to Handle: what is it, and who is involved?
This, as mentioned earlier, is a reality show, but it is also a Netflix original. The show first premiered on the streaming platform on the 17th of April 2020 and currently has one season and nine episodes. The show has somehow managed to make its presence known. From the looks of it, it’s everywhere. The series was created by Laura Gibson and Charlie Bennett and is narrated by Desiree Burch. The location for this season was Punta Mita, Mexico, and it featured contestants from all over the world. The below mentioned are some contestants that made it to the end:
Bryce Hirschberg from Venice, California
Chloe Veitch from Essex Episode
David Birtwistle from London
Francesca Farago from Vancouver, British Columbia
Harry Jowsey from Brisbane, Queensland
Kelechi Dyke from London Episode
Lydia Clyma from Portsmouth, Hampshire
Nicole O’Brien from County Cork
Rhonda Paul from Atlanta, Georgia
Sharron Townsend from Camden, New Jersey
As also mentioned already, the audience had a lot of things to say about the show. Most of these pertained to the simplicity of the rules and the apparent struggle which the contestants went through to withhold them. The rule was this: the contestants should remain single for the entirety of their stay together in a beautiful location and win $100,000 once they complete this challenge successfully. Every time someone breaks the rules, a part of the prize money is taken away. The contestants can then split the remaining price money amongst themselves in the end. Sounds simple, right?
Well, not for the contestants of Too Hot to Handle. Throughout the show, we watch them struggle a great deal to withhold the rules of the house, and we begin to wonder just how difficult it could get in there. From the looks of it, very!
Too Hot to Handle: Brazil – when does it come out?
This would be the official second installment in the Too Hot to Handle franchise. As you might have already guessed by the title, this show would take place in a tropical setting in the country. From what we know, the rules for the show would remain the same. This season would feature new contestants from different places, the world over. We would potentially see a diversity in the sexual orientations of the people featured too.
The production of Too Hot to Handle: Brazil remained on shaky grounds due to the global pandemic. When fans heard the news of a new installment, it came a quite a surprise since the first season had a below-average rating. That being said, rating and reception do not mean the same thing. Although most fans agreed that the show is sub-par, it was still almost annoyingly unmissable. All this said and done, the show will premiere sometime in 2021 as the situation seems to be getting under control, and the production is taking momentum. Will the audience’s opinion on the show change with the new installment? Will the format give us something new? We will have to wait and watch.
