Shingeki No Kyojin, or as we might know it as Attack on Titan, is one of the most popular ongoing anime series currently. With the first season itself, the show gained a huge fan following. Now that we are in the final season of Attack on Titan, all the titans are revealed. The manga for the same ended way back, but we had to wait for the anime to catch up. Now that there are no more secret or ultimate titans, we can finally take a look at the 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan. In this list, we would include user and their version of Titan. For example, Jaw Titan and its user. Here we would add its past user too if they are relevant and worth being on this list. There are 9 main titans in the anime and 3 other titans which are pure, abnormal, and wall. These three are just regular titans with no extra abilities. They vary in size, but their overall functioning is the same. For sake of this article, we would only focus on the nine main titans as they are much more powerful than the other three. Without wasting any further time, let us now look at the 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan.

20. Tom Xaver (Beast Titan)
Starting off this list, we have a really strong titan type called Beast Titan. You might think that why would we put such an amazing, havoc-creating titan so down on this list? It is because of its previous user by the name of Tom Xaver. You might remember him as the guy who used to play catch with Zeke. He was the one who motivated him. However, he was rarely useful in a battle and only helped Marley in research and development.
We don’t get to see much of him in the anime or the 10 TV Shows To Watch If You Liked Young Sheldon. Besides, he himself said that his Titan was not that useful in battle. This might be because he is not properly trained but who knows, Tom himself might not be strong enough to wield the power of Beast Titan. If only we got to see him in some action, he would not have been last on this list.

19. Ymir (Jaw Titan)
This is not the founding Titan Ymir, instead, she is the Ymir from Survey Corps. Remember that girl obsessed with Historia, yeah that one. If it was not clear already, Ymir is a Jaw Titan. She gained this ability after eating Marcel Galliard. And yes, she was Pure Titan before this. After which, she gained the ability to transform into a Jaw Titan, one of the nine titan powers. And there is a reason why she is so down on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan.
Ymir’s Jaw Titan is a fairly short one. Her Titan is only 4-5 feet tall, which is at the lower end compared to even the Pure Titans. She can literally devour anything in her way with those jaws. Despite all this, she can be easily overpowered by a small horde. And if Ymir is on open grounds, there is not much she can do. This is partially because she was not trained like the others. She is not that great with the powers of her Jaw Titan unlike other users of the same.
18. Eren Kruger (Attack Titan)
All of you know this guy, Eren Kruger. Eren’s family was burned down in front of him while he was just a boy. Ever since then, he swore revenge on Marley. And the best way he could do this was to join the same Public Security Authorities that killed his family. There, Eren tried to blend in with the other soldiers by being as ruthless as them. He was also the one who revived the Restorationist Group, under the alias ‘Owl’. Grisha was recruited by him and soon he passed on his titan abilities to him.
Now you might wonder why such an amazing guy was so far down the list? Well, we only saw his Attack Titan’s power once throughout the anime and manga. He managed to pick up a whole ship and destroy it but that was it. We did not get to see him in action as he was in Marley and there were no scenarios where he could use his Attack Titan. He then passed down his powers to Grisha. One of the most important and great powers of this Titan is the ability to see the future users and the past users. He mentioned Mikasa and Armin even though he does not know them neither they are born yet.
17. Frieda Reiss (Founding Titan)
You might probably think why would we put an inheriter of the Founding Titan so down on the list, but just bear with us. Okay, so Frieda Reiss, one of the descendants of the Royal Family. Throughout the history of the walls, the Founding Titan was passed down from generation to generation every 13 years to a member of the Reiss Family. Reiss Family are in fact the descendants of Fritz who changed their name while inside walls.
Frieda inherited the power of Founding Titan from her uncle Uri. Along with the powers, she also became the Queen of the Walls. However, Frieda was inexperienced. She was not trained properly to handle the powers of the Founding Titan. And that is why she was killed by a much lesser stronger Attack Titan of Grisha Yeager. She was very easily overpowered by an Attack Titan who is much much lesser weaker in power as compared to the Founding Titan itself. 16. Grisha Yeager (Attack Titan)
Next up on this list, we have Grisha Yeager and his Attack Titan. Before coming to Paradis Island, Grisha was an Eldian living in Marley. His sister was killed by the Public Security Authorities. She was torn apart by dogs and left on the riverbank. This greatly traumatized Grisha and he did not believe for one second that the Public Security Authorities had nothing to do with her death. He was ashamed of his Eldian heritage and soon went on to become a doctor. This is where he met Grice and joined the Restorationists.
He inherited the Attack Titan from its previous user and friend, Eren Kruger. As we mentioned earlier that Attack Titans have a very unique ability to look at past and future users of the Titan. He looked into the past and learned from Kruger’s mistakes and eventually became stronger than him. What is truly exceptional is the fact that he managed to take down the Founding Titan and acquire its abilities. That is the reason why Grisha Yeager’s Attack Titan made a cut on this list.

15. Pieck Finger (Cart Titan)
On number 15, we have a fan favorite, Cart Titan, specifically, Pieck Finger’s Cart Titan. After witnessing her father being ill and having no way to provide him with medical care, she joined the Warrior Program. Due to her skills and intelligence, she was selected to inherit one of the 7 titan powers available at the hands of the Marleyan Military. Even after her father was treated, he still had sadness in his eyes knowing that his daughter will only live for 13 years. To this, she made a resolve to free Eldians before she dies.
Cart Titan is mostly a utility-based titan. Due to its exceptional speed and maneuverability, it even matches and gives competition to Levi Ackerman. Levi Freaking Ackerman! That man is speed himself. Coming back to Pieck, her Cart Titan is 4m tall when on all 4 limbs and has a flat back. This makes her so much more useful to carry supplies or even military-grade artilleries. Her Titan does have a really high endurance making her stay in titan form for 2 months straight. She cannot physically fight any other titans as she is on all fours. This is the reason why she is this far down on this list of 20 strongest titans in Attack on Titan.
14. Reiner Braun (Armored Titan)
One of the most overpowered-looking titans to appear in season 1 itself was Armored Titan. With its appearance itself, he shook the whole district by literally breaking down the gate to Wall Maria. Reiner Braun was an illegitimate child to an Eldian mother and Marleyan father. He thought that if he became an honorary Marleyan, he can reunite his family. Reiner joined the Warrior Program but was constantly belittled by Porco as he was not that strong. He, along with Annie and Bertolt, trained day and night to get stronger. He was finally selected to inherit the Armored Titan after Marcel used some of his influence in the army.
We know that Armored Titan is strong. Guy has scales of armor on his body. He is strong enough to break down a wall and withstand the Colossal Titans explosion. But with other characters gaining power, it was about time Reiner feared someone rather than the other way around. We have seen in the anime that his armor can easily be broken by either Eren’s brute strength and skills or simply by Hardening. With Annie already being able to use Hardening and her martial arts skills, she can easily turn Reiner to dust. And after Eren also received the Hardening ability, Reiner is no more the once feared Armored Titan.
13. Annie Leonhart (Female Titan)
Next up on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan, we have Annie’s Female Titan. There is not much history regarding who inherited the Female Titan before her. But what we do know is Annie was also an illegitimate child as her mother was a Marleyan and her father an Eldian. After which she was put into Internment Zone along with other Eldians. There she was adopted by Mr. Leonhart who wanted to live a fancy life in Marley so he started training Annie to become a Warrior. When her training was finally complete, she attacked his father and left him crippled for life. Nevertheless, Annie was praised by other Marleyan soldiers for her exceptional skills and did inherit the Female Titan.
Annie’s Female Titan is one of the strongest titans. That mixed with quick wit and combat abilities, make her one of the feared titans there is. Her Female Titan also has Hardening abilities. This lets her make an “unbreakable” crystal anywhere on her Titan or her human form. When Eren’s Attack Titan fought her, she easily overpowered him with her skills. However, Eren then somehow was able to use a “Combination” or Berserk Mode where his power was increased exponentially and ultimately managed to crush Annie’s Female Titan. However, she managed to form a crystal around her human body just in time.
12. Marcel Galliard (Jaw Titan)
Marcel Galliard is the one who inherited the Jaw Titan. He is from Eldia and when he was young, his parents decided to send him and his brother Porco to the Warrior Program. They did so in hopes of getting to become an honorary Marleyan. Both he and his brother excelled in training. But Marcel was extraordinary. Due to his skills and intelligence, he was even appreciated by the Marley Military and had some influence over them too. He is one of the members who went on the Paradis Island Operation. He went along with Bertolt, Reiner, and Annie.
Even if he was skilled, we don’t get to see much of him in action. After they arrived on Paradis Island, Marcel sacrifices himself to save Reiner. He was devoured by Ymir (Jaw Titan), who in turn gained his Jaw Titan powers. From what we know, Marcel was an exceptional titan. We only get a glimpse or two of him wreaking pure havoc. And unlike his brother, we did not get to see him being used as a nutcracker. But Jaw Titans abilities themselves make him something that should have been feared by many but was ultimately carried on by his brother Porco.
11. Porco Galliard (Jaw Titan)
Porco Galliard was a candidate for initially inheriting the Armored Titan. But this opportunity was taken away from him and he had to wait to inherit another titan, Ymir (Jaw Titan, not the Founding Titan). This was because his older brother, Marcel Galliard did not want his brother to live such a horrible life and die. So he used his influence in the military and had Reiner inherit the Armored Titan. The reason to him seemed that Reiner was much stronger than him. But that was not the case at all as he later figures out on his death bed. He died during the battle of Fort Slava. Falco Grice then consumes his body and becomes the first-ever Flying Titan.
Porco’s Jaw Titan was definitely much stronger than his brother’s. He was fast, agile, quick-witted, and most importantly way stronger. With sharp claws and sharp jaw/teeth, he was easily able to overpower enemy forces. However, this ability was exactly why Eren was able to consume the body of Lara Tybur, the user of War Hammer Titan. His jaw could easily break the crystal that was formed using Hardening ability. And thus, Eren used him literally like a nut-cracker to crack the crystal and inherit the War Hammer Titan. Ah, the memes that followed after the incident, the time of our lives.

10. Bertolt Hoover (Colossal Titan)
Now we are reaching the top 10 part of the list and you might have guessed who all made the cut for it. Starting off, we have Bertolt Hoover. He literally inherited one of the strongest titans ever but there are some things that made him rank this low. Bertolt Hoover, just like any other Eldian kid, joined the Warrior Program pretty early to become an Honorary Marleyan. He was praised for his target shooting abilities and was made to join the squad that would bring the Founding Titan to Marley from Paradis Island.
Colossal Titan in general has some really great abilities. Firstly, it can produce hot steam from its body that can literally burn its enemies to death. When the user transforms into this Titan, they create a really large explosion. Only Armored Titan can withstand this explosion and thus Bertolt greatly relies on Reiner. Although Bertolt is indecisive, he can’t come up with his own plans and relies too much on his other two team members. This makes his Titan even more powerless. And thus he had to be on number 10 on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan.
09. Zeke Yeager (Beast Titan)
Zeke Yeager, the boy wonder and the user of Beast Titan. He was the son of Grisha Yeager and Dina Fritz. Yes, his mother was the descendant of a branch of the royal family that did not join King Fritz in fleeing to Paradis Island. Being their son, he was put into the Warrior Program so that he can spy on them. Zeke was not performing well there but he did manage to find a friend, Tom Xaver. He was the user of Beast Titan before Zeke inherited it.
As we have already seen in the anime and manga that Beast Titan is one of the most powerful titans in terms of raw strength. But that’s not all, Zeke used to play catch with Tom Xaver and got better and better at it. He uses his this ability to throw boulders and whatever he can grab his hands-on, at a really great speed. This gives him an edge in battle as he can control both close-range and long-range combat. But the most important ability of Zeke is his power to transform and control titans injected with his spinal fluid. He can control them in a way like controlling their physical form and their minds. This is the reason why he is called the Boy Wonder.
08. Lara Tybur (War Hammer)
Next up on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan, we have Lara Tybur’s War Hammer Titan. She is the sister of Willy Tybur, head of the family. Sometime before the events of Eren coming to Marley, she was given the power of War Hammer Titan that has been in the family for generations. We don’t know as to who the previous user was. She along with her family led a very peaceful life in Marley as they were the ones who fought King Fritz. This act along with them giving Marley the freedom and the land acted as their way to atone for their sins. And thus they are highly respected even though they belong to the bloodline of titans.
When Eren put a fight against Marley, Willy commanded her sister to fight him off. This is the first time we witnessed the War Hammer Titan’s shape and form. It has an amazing ability to forge anything and everything. Right from long sharp thorns on the ground to the weapon of choice, War Hammer, it could do it all. One other interesting detail about this Titan is that the user can control it remotely without actually being in the nape of it. Eren’s Attack Titan had a hard time defeating it that too with the help of OP Ackerman, Mikasa. Even after that, it took yet another titan to get Lara out of the crystal and consume her remains to have her titan powers.
07. Armin Arlelt (Colossal Titan)
What can we say about this guy? You already know him and we all love him. Armin was a very timid individual in his childhood, timid but courageous. He was never afraid to speak his mind out but was smart enough to understand where to keep it shut, unlike Eren. He is not that physically strong, but his brain is all he needs. The guy can make split-second decisions and come up with great strategies. He truly is the rightful guy to take the role of Erwin Smith as both of them are very similar.
In a battle against Colossal Titan, Armored Titan, and Female Titan, Armin was burned and was on the brink of death. The only way he could be saved was to ingest the remains of Bertolt and become the Colossal Titan himself. And that was one of the best things that could have happened. Colossal Titans’ power was now in the hand of an individual who could actually think and not rely completely on others, rather takes charge. And we could see this on multiple occasions, including the time he fought Eren’s Founding Titan and Colossal Titan. This is the reason why he is placed so high on this list.
06. Eren Yeager (Attack Titan)
Now, we have arrived at the part where all the OP titans are ranked. And we had to put Eren Yeager’s Attack Titan so high up for many reasons. Eren acquired his Attack Titan abilities from his father Grisha Yeager. Attack Titan is considered a freedom fighter. In both anime and manga, it is stated that Attack Titan will keep on moving, push forward in the direction of freedom. This Titan also has a very unique ability that is not known to many. The user can see its past and future users. Attack Titan is one of the most overpowered titans there is. And Eren’s abilities and determination just add more to it.
Eren was able to overpower Reiner’s Armored Titan physically just by using some moves that he learned from Annie. Later, he also received the Hardening abilities which helped him absolutely crush Reiner once more. Although he did struggle with Annie. And this is where we see Attack Titan “Combination” form or also known as Berserk Attack Titan. His overall abilities were boosted and were able to easily defeat Annie. Not to forget that he was able to also defeat War Hammer Titan, with the help of Mikasa of course. This was while he also stopped Jaw Titan and used him like a lemon squeezer or a nutcracker, whichever sounds funny. This is the reason why Eren Yeager’s Attack Titan was ranked so high on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan.

05. Rod & Uri’s Father (Founding Titan)
Finally, the top 5, and we have some really great picks for the same. Starting off at number 5 we have Road Reiss and Uri Reiss’ father. His name was not revealed in either anime or manga. For the sake of this article, we will call him Mr. Reiss. Mr. Reiss, like many other royal bloods, inherited his Founding Titan powers from an unknown ancestor by eating him. With the power, he also inherited the throne as the King of the Walls.
As a Founding Titan, we have to assume his powers were great but we were never able to see him action. His children’s demanded him to put an end to the titans but he just couldn’t as he also inherited the will of King Fritz. Rod Reiss constantly asked his father to rid the world of the Titan so much so that he was put in jail. Now we will come to King Fritz and his will in a second or third, but for now, just know that King Fritz was stronger than his successors and his will remained even in death.
04. Uri Reiss (Founding Titan)
On the fourth spot on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan, we have Uri Reiss. He was the son of Mr. Reiss and a younger brother to Rod Reiss. As a child, he and his brother requested their father to put an end to titans and rid them of this world. But after inheriting the Founding Titan, Mr. Reiss also inherited King Fritz’s will. When selecting a successor for the Founding Titan, Uri stepped forward and decided to take the responsibility.
Uri was a brave man and was never afraid to speak his mind out. Despite his upbringing, he thought that the world would be a better place without humanity being in constant terror of titans. So he inherited the power of Founding Titan in hopes of doing the same. But King Fritz’s will followed and he too thought that this was a bad idea. As a Founding Titan, his powers were really great. He could partially transform into the titan form without causing much destruction and raising unwanted attention.
03. King Fritz/Karl Fritz (Founding Titan)
King Fritz was the King of Eldia before his downfall. He was a man who believed that titans are born of evil and they are sinners. Being the King of Eldia, he inherited the Founding Titan while other members of his family inherited the other 8. However, the families were constantly at war with each other to take control of other titans. Karl decided not to meddle and let them tear each other apart. But he could not ignore it any further and requested the help of the Tybur Family who was in control of War Hammer Titan. He along with Tybur and other Marleyans waged a war against them and acquired 7 out of 9 titans.
Karl, along with his family and other Eldians, went deep in Eldia where he set up three walls which we know as Wall Maria, Rose, and Sina. As a Founding Titan, he had power to control titans both physically and mentally. He made huge walls using Colossal Titans and changed the memories of the people of Eldia within the walls to believe that they are the last humans alive. He wanted them to live in peace and away from humans where they cannot wreak havoc.
02. Eren Yeager (Founding Titan)
Some of you know this was coming, some of you didn’t. So presenting, number 2 on this list of 20 strongest titans from Attack on Titan, Eren Yeager’s Founding Titan. As we know from history that, Grisha Yeager killed and consumed Frieda Reiss with his Attack Titan. He then passed down both the powers to his son Eren Yeager. However, neither Eren nor Grisha were of the royal blood so the powers would remain dormant in them unless they come in contact with a member of the royal family. Eren was briefly able to use the Founding Titans powers early on when he came face to face with his mother’s killers. The Titan who eat his mom was Diana Fritz, of royal blood and hence he was able to command other titans to attack her.
Eren’s Founding Titan can be seen in the War Paradis Arc. There he and Zeke realize that a descendant of royal blood is required to awaken the abilities. Zeke first tried to sterilize the Eldian race but was instead stopped by Eren after he pleaded to Ymir and told her she was free to make her own decision. He was then able to use the power of Founding Titan in Coordination and told all subjects of Ymir to unleash war on the outside world. At this point, Eren was close to being the perfect Founding Titan.
01. Ymir Fritz (Founding Titan)
At the top of the list, we have none other than the progenitor herself. Ymir was a young girl who was a slave to the King of Eldia. One night, she accidentally left the pigpen open which made all the pigs escape. She was then released by the king only to be hunted down by her soldiers like an animal. She ran and ran but soldiers were ruthless. Ymir had wounds all over her body and was tired. Luckily or ‘Unluckily’, she found a tree with an opening at its base. So she decided to take shelter there. However, she did not know that the opening had a hole in the ground and she fell directly into a pool of unknown liquid where a spine-like creature attached itself to her. And she became the first Titan ever.
Throughout her time and even in death, she served the king of Eldia. When she died, she was brought to the Path, where she continued to serve her descendants. She would make titans for them whenever necessary. But the reason why she is so high up on this list is that she is essentially the mother, or god of titans to some sense. She divided her Founding Titan powers into nine. And considering that how strong these 9 individual titans are, just imagine what kind of power could she have wielded if she wanted to. She could have potentially flattened the whole surface of the earth if she deemed so. And that is why she is number 1 on this list of 20 strongest tians from Attack on Titan.
