Previously in the manhwa, Namgung Wan, the patriarch of the Namgung family, promised Eui Kang to have the mysterious healer take a look at Ri Yeon. After traveling for a few days, Ri Yeon and her company finally reach the midpoint where Namgung was supposed to meet them.

Ri Yeon is well aware of the reason she missed the chance to see the healer in her previous life and is determined to change her fate this time around. Ri Yeon begs her father to let her eat at the inn downstairs, and Eui Kang grudgingly agrees to her request.
