The Karate Kid franchise is an American martial arts drama multi-media franchise with Robert Mark Kamen as the creator and the screenwriter of the movies. Columbia Pictures, a branch of Sony Pictures Entertainment, is the producer of the franchise. It follows the adventures of various coming-of-age teenagers who stand up against their bullies and follow a wise mentor who teaches them karate. Eventually, they learn the martial artist to prove their worth in a tournament. The franchise has several movies, one live-action series, one animated series, and four video games under it. Here’s all the information about Cobra Kai season 4, including its release date and cast.
The Plot of Cobra Kai
The series follows Jonny Lawrence, thirty-four years after his defeat in the 1984 All-Valley Karate Tournament. Now in his 50s, he works as a part-time handyman and lives in an apartment in Reseda, Los Angeles. One day, he uses karate to save his teenage neighbor, Miguel Diaz, from a gam of bullies. Miguel is an asthmatic kid who lives with a single mother and his grandmother. He asks Johnny to teach him karate, and the latter agrees after some hesitation. Johnny decides to reopen the Cobra Kai karate dojo as he finds a chance to recapture his past. However, this catches the attention of his rival Daniel LaRusso.
Daniel is now the owner of a highly successful car dealership chain and is married to co-owner Amanda. Daniel also has two children, Samantha and Anthony. As he lives the wealthy lifestyle he dreamed of as a kid, he struggles to meaningfully connect with his children. This is especially after the death of his mentor Mr. Miyagi. Also, Daniel has to suffer from the rocky relationship between his mother and wife. Meanwhile, Johnny’s dojo welcomes a group of social outcasts suffering from bullies. This includes Miguel’s friends Aisha, Hawk, and Demetri. Johnny and Miguel develop a bond in a way that is very similar to the relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi.
Johnny decides to maintain the philosophy of Cobra Kai and even tries to infuse it with more honor than before. This results in Miguel developing a very different kind of student than Daniel and Jonny but in a good way. Miguel eventually starts dating Samantha, Daniel’s daughter. Unfortunately, John Kreese threatens the reformation of Cobra Ka and aspires to bring back the dojo to its originally ruthless form. The story develops as it focuses on these primary relationships, leading to conflicts and ultimately creating the product of Daniel and Johnny’s inability to move away from their pasts and karate.

As for the streaming details, after the popularity of season 3, there is no way that Netflix will lose the rights to the series. So, the fourth season will premiere on Netflix. According to Hayden Schlossberg, the main focus of the upcoming season will be all the events of the All Valley Tournament, including the craziness and the tossing and turning of allegiances.
The finale of season 3 indicates the collaboration of the childhood rivals Johnny and Daniel. Season 4 will focus on the duo as they decide to work together to take down John Kresse. Meanwhile, Kreese will begin to train Johnny’s son Robby.
Miguel, Sam, Demitri, and Hawk will fight against Tori, Robby, and Kyler in the All Valley Karate Tournament. The winner will get to stay in the martial arts game. Cobra Kai may also receive the help of a billionaire, also a karate instructor, and a psychopath, Terry Silver. The flashbacks of Kreese’s time in Vietnam served another purpose than telling his obsession with karate: it was to reveal the story of his friendship with Terry. Terry Silver is the main villain in the 1989 movie, Karate Kid III. He was the one who funded the opening of Cobra Kai in the first place.
