Shrouding the Heavens is a Chinese anime based on the novel of the same name. Having amazing CGI-based animation and an amazing story, the series has managed to garner a lot of attention and has made a name for itself in the world of anime, improving the recent image of Chinese anime even further. The series is an interesting take on the concept of traveling to a different world.

One day, there is a heavy storm, and Ye Fan, along with his classmates, have to make their way through the flood and the destruction it is causing. They somehow manage to escape its clutches and end up on top of Mount Tia, where they witness a mystical sight. Eight Eastern Giant Dragons are descending right towards them. The group gets transported to a fantasy world filled with magic and martial arts. Having no idea what fate has in store for them, will they be able to survive in this mysterious realm?

Episode 8 is the next episode to air in the series, and fans are very excited about it. The last episode ended with Ye Fan and Pang Bo choosing to join the Spirit Ruins Paradise in order to learn cultivation. A mysterious old man appears in front of them, descending from the sky. He explained to them some things regarding the Ancient Abandoned Forbidden Land and discussed how and where did they come from. It was once in a thousand-year opportunity. He tells them about cultivation and its various benefits and is ready to accept them as his students if they wish to learn. All of them agree to it and decide to go along with him.

As they are traveling via air, they suddenly get attacked out of nowhere. One by one, the other masters who were eager to take in new disciples appeared and asserted their claim over the newcomers. They tried to sway their opinion towards their own paradise, eventually resorting to the use of force and ended up fighting with each other. In the end, the master of the Spirit Ruins Paradise intervenes and suggests the use of the ancestor rule to decide.

After assessing Ye Fan, the elder finds out that he is a rare talent in the world of cultivation, only to be disappointed later. Ye Fan had the Ancient Desolation Sacred Body, a physique unable to be cultivated. Ye Fan decides to refrain from joining any sect due to this revelation and live an ordinary life, but Pang Bo refuses to go without him. In the end, he has to give in to his friend’s wishes and decides to go along with him to the Spirit Ruins Paradise.
