The whole world has been hit by the phenomenal wave of kpop. Kpop is basically a term used for music and culture surrounding the Korean language. They usually come from Korea, but many Kpop group members also come from Japan, China, and Thailand. Most of the artists are formed through companies. The artists train under a company for about 6-7 years, some train for 1 day and some for about 10 years. They train in skills such as singing, rapping, and dancing. The most popular entertainment companies now are HYBE Entertainment (formerly known as Big Git entertainment), YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment.

Kpop idols are extremely talented, some of them being all-rounders meaning that they can sing, dance, and as well as rap. Your favorite member of a kpop group is your bias. BTS consists of seven members the leader Kim Namjoon, the eldest Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Heosok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung( stage name V), and the golden maknae Jeon Jungkook. Recently, BTS’s popularity, which was already massive, seemed to grow with their hit single Dynamite.

After Bts, Blackpink is considered the most popular kpop girl group in the world. Their fanbase BLINK is pretty large, coming close to the large number of ARMYs. They consist of the talented four members the eldest Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and the youngest Lisa. All of the Blackpink members are considered all-rounders as all of them can sing, rap and dance.  They are known for their girl crush image, and fans are delighted to see that they are starting to experiment with new forms of music. Twice had to fight their way to debut in the survival show ‘Sixteen.’ Twice is currently signed under JYP Entertainment. Twice consists of nine members, The eldest Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, the leader Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. Twice’s fanbase is called ONCE. Red Velvet consists of five members The leader and the eldest Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and the youngest Yeri. They had their first song with their song ‘Happiness’ with four of the elder members as Yeri was too young; later, when Yeri came of age, they debuted as a full group with their song Ice Cream Cake which is considered as their debut song.

They are divided into sub-units NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream. NCT translates into Neo Culture Technology. NCTzens is the name of their loyal fanbase; they also called their fans. Seasonies; the members say this to show that their fans are precious as the four seasons.

TXT stands for ‘Tomorrow By Together.’ It has super talented and hella handsome members. The group consists of five members the leader Soobin, the eldest Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and the youngest, Huening Kai. The group is the dongsaengs of the most popular kpop group BTS. But they haven’t earned only through that. They are incredibly hard-working. Forever is softer than Black Mamba, concluding that these girls can be pretty versatile like their sunbaemins Red Velvet. Aespa is a four-member girl group with the leader and the eldest Karina, Giselle, Winter, and their youngest member Ningning. Their fandom name is MY, meaning the most precious friend.

15. Enhyphen

Enhyphen is another rookie group that has been gaining a lot of attention. They debuted last year in November, and the members were made through the survival show I-Land. They are under Belift lab, a joint venture between Cj ENM and HYBE labels. The group consists of seven members, named the leader and maknae Ni-Ki, the eldest Jungon, Heesung, Jay, Sunghoon, and Sunoo. They had debuted with their amazing song ‘Given-Taken’ and have been recently planning for a comeback and have released for ‘Drunk Dazed.’ Their fandom’s name is ENGENE.
