Virgin River Season 3 Release Date
Virgin River Season 3 will be released in late 2021, just like the previous seasons, most likely in November. Although the covid outbreak has put almost all production studios on halt, surprisingly, Virgin River Season 3 has been unaffected due to this. This is because the production team of Reel World Management keeps the shooting done one year in advance.
Although the shooting was unable to be done this year, and if another pandemic doesn’t hit us again, the team will have plenty of time to be done before their yearly schedule hits. Since the shooting is done within a month for the entire season in the past, it is doubtful for the release to be delayed.
Virgin River: Recap
The story starts when Mel Monroe, our protagonist, moves to the little town of Virgin River for a fresh new start. She is hired for one year to be Doctor Mullins as a nurse. Even though Mullins is not happy as she was hired without approval, he slowly grows fond of her. She meets Jack Sheridan at the bar he runs with his friend Preacher. Jack starts to like Mel and ultimately helps her get through the inhospitality she dealt with yet.
As the story progresses, there are all sorts of drama as both Mel and Jack have their own baggage that keeps popping up. At first, Charmaine introduces her to Mel as Jack’s girlfriend when everything was starting to hit off. Then it all starts hitting the roof when Charmaine is discovered to be pregnant. With this, Mel feels like she is destroying the family that Jack could have with her. Mel then moves back home and doesn’t pick up Jack’s calls, which leaves him heartbroken.
She then comes back to unannounced after not being in touch with Jack to honor her nurse contract. But as seen as she does, she is faced with a disappointed Jack. Even after all that, Jack just wants to leave as Mel keeps on apologizing. They ultimately make it up, but this time, their relationship as friends has a rocky start. Virgin River Season 3 Cast Details
Here you can know everything about the series’s cast and learn what turns their lives may take when upcoming episodes are released!
Alexandra Breckenridge as Melinda Monroe
Melinda Monroe often called Mel, is the beautiful nurse and the main protagonist of our story. She is starred by the famous actress Alexandra Breckenridge known for her active roles in various TV Shows. Mel has lived a harrowing past, and in hopes of escaping, she comes to the small town of Virgin River. Even though she had hoped for leaving peacefully here and get some emotional rest, she is drawn into a lot of drama.
The doctor for whom she was appointed to become a nurse doesn’t want him. This is because she was appointed without his consent or knowledge. If it weren’t for Jack, she wouldn’t have survived two days in the Virgin River, as she later accepts. Even with all the cruelty the town and her past have to offer, with Jack on her side; she gets through it all.
Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan
Played by the actor Martin Henderson, Jack is the owner of a local restaurant cum bar. After retiring from the Marines and suffering from PTSD, he makes Virgin River his home. Working at his bar one time with his friend Preacher, he stumbles upon her next love Melinda Monroe.
Jack is an all-around nice guy that selflessly aids Mel in adjusting to Virgin River’s lifestyle. He ultimately falls in her so much so that he leaves his pregnant girlfriend, Charmaine. In his defense, though she was just his friends with benefits, Jack was unaware that she was pregnant when he met Mel.
Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine Roberts
Charmaine Roberts, portrayed by Lauren Hammersley, is the trouble maker of the show. She just used to have casual sex with Jack but later announces that she is actually his girlfriend when she meets Mel. Throughout the series, she tries to stay aimlessly with Jack, fully aware that he doesn’t love her back.
Later in the show, she creates more drama when we found that she is pregnant. Even though she knows that Jack wants to be with Mel, she still clings on to him. She ultimately puts Mel into a guilt trap that Jack could have a family with her. But in the end, Jack does what he feels is right and leaves her alone, but taking full care of the upcoming baby.
Colin Lawrence as John Middletown
In the series, the preacher, John Middletown, played by Colin Lawrence, is Jack’s best friend. He used to be in the Marines and Jack but now runs the bar cum restaurant with him. He is an excellent chef and an even better friend of Jack.
From time to time, he helps Jack and Melanie when the duo has a falling out. Also, he helps uncover Paige’s secret past as we go through the series. He and Jack are the best friends the town has, as both are really super cool dudes.
Tim Matheson as Doctor Mullins
Mostly called upon as Doc Mullins, he has a very grumpy attitude towards everyone in the beginning. But as time passes by, he ultimately sheds away that attitude of his. Perfectly played by Tim Matheson, Doc Mullins cares for all people in Virgin River.
Being an excellent town doctor, he looks after every patient of his with utmost care. He at first was angry at Mel as she was appointed without his knowledge. But as Mel does her job carefully and is really nice to him, Doc ultimately grows a soft spot for her.
Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dan Brady
Also, an ex-marine like Jack and Preacher, Dan Brady, played by Benjamin Hollingsworth, is not a cool guy. He loves to create drama from time to time as we progress in the series. However, his past is not shown in the series; it was done for excellent reasons. He also has the most obtrusive stare of the entire cast.
Portrayed as a typical jerk, he stirs drama like it’s his lunch. And wherever he goes, trouble is sure to follow. There was one event where he announces publicly that Mel and Jack were sleeping together. He then got a punch on his nose that he very well deserved. No wonder why despite being an ex-marine, Jack and Preacher aren’t on good terms with him.
Lexa Doig as Paige Lassiter
Portrayed by the amazing actress Lexa Doig, Paige’s character is really nice, to say the list. However, her insecurities and secret past stir drama are good by nature and then in the show. She runs the town bakery, and she does that well. And apparently, she is the provider of the town’s complete coffee supplier.
Being a single mom of a sweet little boy, she has a sweet spot for him. Furthermore, she really likes Preacher. Her character was portrayed perfectly by the Canadian actress. She is expected to fall in love with Preacher in upcoming episodes if everything goes well.
Daniel Gillies as Mark Monroe
Mark Monroe is the deceased husband of Mel whose appearance is quite rare in the show. Since he was played by the handsome actor Daniel Gillies, Mel looked really happy with him in the flashbacks. As he is no longer around, Mel misses him from time to time, and he is then shown in flashbacks.
Mark was a really successful doctor, and he constantly tried to work out his marriage with Mel. But one day, he died in a car crash, which led Mel to intense emotional pain. This is the reason why Mel came to Virgin River in the first place, to forget him.
