One Deadly Mistake is an amazing show, it has been gaining popularity with just its first season. There have been 6 episodes that have been released, and almost all of them have wonders when it comes to viewership. One Deadly mistake is a true crime show, so yes, it’s got the same amount of fear element as a horror project. Crime documentaries or crime shows are one of the most popular genres out there. We love to watch the cops trying to piece together the whole crime scene, we also try to do the same thing with them and find the bad guy.
But when the crime show becomes a true crime show, it’s a completely different ball game. The true aspect of the genre just adds a huge amount of fear to it, the fact that the gruesome stuff we are watching on our screens right now has happened to some extend scares us so much.
The “true” element of the show never leaves our heads, it just lingers as we watch the show or the movie. When any over-the-top scene pops up, we think to ourselves, “this really happened!”. But don’t get us wrong, this isn’t a bad thing. It’s one of the best things about the genre.
This fear aspect of the show makes it so much more interesting and thrilling. You will almost always find yourself at the edge of your seat or biting your nails. This show follows different gruesome murders that have taken place all around the United States. We have a team of amazing and capable detectives to find the killer, the best part about them is that they are relentless, never would they give up.
Throughout the show, it is set in stone that this team of detectives would never give up. Even with the smallest traces of evidence they have, they would work day in and day out to solve the case. In contrast to the title, we see the killer making a small mistake, this small mistake all the detective need to close in on the culprit.
Skip the next part if you don’t want any spoilers for the sixth episode in the series. Also, skip the part if you are faint of heart, we mentioned quite a few times that the show is very gruesome. The previous episode from the first season titled “The Ties That Bind’ was a terrifying one. The crime was a little too much for some people. The crime followed the death of Karyn Slover as her body parts were found floating in bags in the central Illinois lake.
A few days before, a car was found on a highway nearby with its driver-side door open and the car still running. This led to the detectives concluding that this was a clear case of kidnapping and hijacking. After identifying the car’s owner, David Swann, they found out that Karyn Slover was the one driving it that day.
Karyn was using her boyfriend’s car that day because she’s needed repairs. She was on her way back from work to pick up her son Kolten, he was at her ex-husband’s parent’s house. The only thing they found in the car was her purse, this complicated things much more.
Days later, a human head, which belonged to the victim, was found in the river nearby. Everyone on the force was dumbfounded. The case was first filed as a missing person case, now that was changed to homicide. There were also bullet wounds found in the head, making the cause of death gunshots to the head.
