Hypothetical is a British comedy panel tv show. The panel game show is created by British comedian Josh Widdicombe, with Tom Craine and Matthew Crosby. Widdicombe hosts the show alongside fellow comedian, James Acaster. Furthermore, Craine and Crosby write the show. The show made its debut in 2019. And it premieres on Dave’s network.
Every season a team of a bunch of celebrities- mostly comedians join the show and face a hypothetical situation birthed by Widdicombe. Undoubtedly, Hypothetical is different from the other celeb/game shows available online. Thus, this makes it more interesting.
The third season commenced on February 10, 2021. And it will air its last episode in the March end- 31 March 2021. But, for now, let’s get to know more about episode 2.
Hypothetical Season 3 Episode 2 Release Date
Hypothetical season 3 episode 2 is premiering on February 17, 2021. It will broadcast on its original network Dave in the United Kingdom. So make sure to watch the new episode.
The first episode starred guests Suzi Ruffell, Tom Allen, Sophie Duker, and Desiree Burch. However, the guestlist for season 2 is not out yet. But, don’t worry, the episode will be out soon.
Hypothetical season 3 episode 1 was liked by the fans. Although the critics pointed out some flaws, the religious fans of the show laughed their heads off. Both previous stars of Taskmaker, Widdicombe, and Acaster started the show with their unpleasant hypothetical questions. One of which was “How would you convince Josh that a room in his house is haunted?” Not so surprisingly, the comedian guests also had different takes on how they would elaborate the situation.
The critics pointed out how the game show is actually not satisfying. The comedians talking about funny situations instead of being in one is not liked by everyone. But, we hope the next episode might satisfy them and their laughter.
The third installment started with all the four guests sitting together but way too far from each other (if it makes any sense). Also, Ruffel and Allen have previously appeared on the show. So, it will be more interesting to see a new line-up of guests in the upcoming episodes.
Hypothetical Format And Plot
The show is simple yet intriguing. The basic concept of the show involves the host, Widdicombe, who presents the guests with hypothetical situations. And these guests reply with their best takes on the given problem. Moreover, there are also some rules laid down by co-host Acaster.
On every right or relevant answer, the guests are provided points by Acaster, from 0 to 5. Hence, the team with the highest points wins the show and the game. Furthermore, in the end, Acaster also gives his answers to the hypothetical situations provided by the host. Acaster’s answers are the best solution to the questions.
Besides the games and questions, pre-recorded films and clips are also played. Role-play of guests and funny acts are also portrayed by the celebs. Considering that most of the guests are famous comedians, the acts are also improvised and wittier.
Widdicombe is the backbone of the show. Once, he said, “I have spent the last decade of my life annoying other comics with these questions in cars and dressing rooms, so I am delighted Dave has allowed me to claim that I was in fact researching a show and not just wasting everyone’s time.”
The show has just started, and a lot of humor is waiting ahead for you. So, make sure to mark the dates on your calendars. And to know more, stay tuned and keep reading.
