Fantastic Four Marvel Heroes

Gazillion entertainment recently released a post on the official forum of the online multiplayer action role-playing game Marvel’s Heroes stating that all sales for the lead Fantastic Four comic characters, which include Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Thing and The Human Torch will be closed as of the 1st of July, 2017.

Marvel’s Heroes was first launched in June, 2013 by Gazillion entertainment in collaboration with Secret identity studios for the Microsoft OS. The game offers a wide range of characters that the player can choose from, to be a part of a pretty interesting story line, which spans the whole of the Marvel-verse.

However, the company has now declared that the sales for the Fantastic Four characters will stop this month, stating that they no longer posses the rights to conduct said sales. This, it is being speculated, could be a result of a change in the agreement between Gazillion entertainment and Fox studios, which currently holds the rights to the Fantastic Four characters. However, no such statement has been made my the company itself.

After the disastrous remake of the original Fantastic Four film in 2015, the characters have become widely unpopular in the Marvel cinematic universe. So it’s not a surprise to see Marvel slowly pulling out their roots from other platforms as well. Perhaps, they are gearing up for another revamp; but at this point, we can only speculate.

With regard to the halting of the sales, however, the company stated that the players who had already purchased the characters and costumes on the game will still be able to play them as before, and they will still be receiving regular updates.

Apart from the four characters from Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer is also being pulled from the sales, along with the costumes of a couple of more characters like Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, etc., (Full list at the end of the post) that are connected to the continuity of the  Fantastic Four comics. Doctor Doom, who plays a pivotal role in the plot of the game, however, will remain unaffected.

Here’s a full list of the costumes that will no longer be available for sale from the first of July.
