About Yesterday there was a server-side update to Pokemon Go, which was kind of surprising. Well anyways, this update came with a slightly bad news.
The thing is that every Pokemon in Pokemon Go when encountered gets a ring around on which you throw your Pokeball to catch it, well with this latest server-side update caused a kind of a slight discomfort to the game. The GAME_MASTER file received an update and on analyzing this we found out that, Omanyte and Omastar are now going to a be little harder to catch.
Well there are specific terminology you should understand for this, they are
Collision Radius – hitbox radius for the Pokemon’s body
Collision Height – hitbox height for the Pokemon’s body
Collision Head Radius – hitbox radius for the Pokemon’s head
Hitbox here refers to the area in which you throw your Pokeball, so this is how things work. There are certain multiplier numbers which influence the overall size of the hitbox, well the bad news is that these numbers got a decrement for both Omanyte and Omastar.
The changes made are,
Base collision radius multiplier reduced from 0.222 to 0.15
Head collision radius multiplier increased from 0.111 to 0.22
Head collision radius multiplier increased from 0.1875 to 0.5
Enough with all those nerdy figures, what do they actually translate to in real life, well Omanyte will now be much harder to catch but the likelihood of catching it will be higher when you hit it on the head, but for Omastar there won’t much of a difference.
Wel, this was a quick update I hope you learned something new from this post, glad I could help.
