2017: A year of The Fate Series

Fate/Grand order: First Order aired 31st December 2016 to wrap up the year.

And to celebrate the New Year, we’ve got Fate/Stay night: Heaven’s Feel and Fate/Extra Last Encore promotion videos streamed!

Fate/Apocrypha TV anime was also announced for 2017

Let’s have a look at the hype of 2017.

Fate/ Extra Last Encore

Studio: Shaft

Summary: Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, Hakuno finds himself forced to fight for survival in a war he does not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic “Servant” by his side, Hakuno Kishinami will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the “Holy Grail,” but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: “Who am I?”

In this series, we will get to something different from the previous Fate series: Red Saber!!!

The two PVs are quite dark and mysterious. They resemble trailers for a horror movie.

Fate/Stay night: Heaven’s Feel

Studio: Ufotable

Summary: Emiya Shirou is a young magus who attends Homurahara Academy in Fuyuki City. One day, he is suddenly caught in a battle between 2 powerful Magus, he unexpectedly summons a servant, Saber to protect him. Eventually, he gets involved in the Holy Grail War, a ritual where magi called Masters fight each other with their Servants to win the Holy Grail. Shirou joins the battle to save innocent people.

Heaven’s Feel is the third and final route of the Fate/Stay night series. In this route, Sakura Matou, the daughter of one of the families that traditionally take part in the holy Grail War, will be the main heroine. Heaven’s Feel route has 2 endings: the ‘normal’ and the ‘true’ ending. Which one will be animated is not yet known. The entire movie will be separated into 3 parts. The trailer for the first part of the movie had been released.

One best thing about Heaven’s Feel is that its music is composed by Yuki Kajiura, the composer for Fate/Zero and Sword Art Online. Get ready for extremely epic music! The PV’s background music is already epic.

Studio: A-1 Pictures

Summary: The setting of Fate/Apocrypha is a parallel world to Fate/stay night where the Greater Grail was removed from Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War and disappeared for many years. Around the 2000s, around the same time as the Fifth Holy Grail War would have happened, the group that plundered the Grail, Yggdmillennia, openly declares their secession from the Mage’s Association and that they are in possession of the Grail. The Association dispatches fifty magi to retrieve it, but all but one, are instantly slaughtered by Lancer of Black. The one remaining manages to activate the reserve system of the Greater Grail, allowing for the summoning of fourteen Servants in total.

This marks the start of the Great Holy Grail War in Trifas, featuring two different factions, the Black Faction, whose members are part of Yggdramillennia, and the Red Faction, whose members were sent by the Mage’s Association with the exception of one from the Church. The Grail itself also summons Ruler to act as a mediator of the Holy Grail War

The PV itself is filled with amazing fights and beautiful art.

Unfortunately, the release dates of all of them have not yet been confirmed so keep updated. Hopefully the engsub version will come out soon

2017 is truly a fateful year!
